| Macadamia Nuts & Macadamia Butter - Raw or Dry Roasted |
| We have taken this extremely popular nut and
made it into an equally wonderful Macadamia nut butter. It has a
"sweet" "buttery" taste and texture. We add nothing
to it. It is just raw freshly ground macadamias. It can be described as very
smooth and having a mellow flavor. It doesn't have any bite or strong flavor
Thought to have originated in Australia, macadamia nuts were made popular
in the late 1800s by Ferdinand van Mueller, a European who named the nut
after Australian naturalist John Macadam. Also called Queensland nuts,
macadamias have been eaten since ancient times by aborigines and have
only been in widespread use since the early twentieth century. There are
approximately six varieties of macadamia trees that grow in hot humid
climates. The round beige nut has a thick hard shell, although some varieties
have been developed in recent years with a softer shell. Australia and
Hawaii are the leading producers of macadamia nuts. We get most of ours
from Africa. Macadamia Nut Butter is another great alternative to peanut butter and a good addition to ice cream. Macadamia Nut Butter is easily spreadable for sandwiches, snacks/appetizers and is an excellent addition to recipes. It is also a wonderful compliment to jams, chocolate and crackers. NUTRITION Macadamia Nut Butter is particularly known for thiamin, protein, flavenoids
(may help reduce the risk of some cancers and heart disease), and omega
3 (thought to reduce the risk of heart disease and high blood pressure).
