DAIRY-FREE FOODS |
All of our nut or seed butters are dairy-free foods. Our nut and seed butters are a great tasting and nutritious alternative for those on dairy free diets. They are rich in protein, vitamins and minerals, and low in saturated fat. They contain no added salt, sugar, oils or preservatives. Often most of our "butters"can be used in place of dairy products such as the milk in cream soups. Cashew butter looks and has the mouthfeel in many recipes that use milk (macadamia and almond butter can be used also). Many of us have milk intolerance or allergies. They are not the same, although it's best to substitute for milk in these cases. Our nut butters do not contain any animal products, are not an animal by-product, therefore have no cholesterol. Our nut butters are loaded with health protective nutrients such as antioxidant vitamins, minerals, essential amino acids and fiber. Those worried about not getting dairy calcium in their diet can eat calcium rich veggies and nuts that are better absorbed. Milk alternative information can be accessed at http://notmilk.com The Vegan Movement and Raw Food Movement have really taken off lately, even though they are not new. John Kellogg invented the cornflake at the turn of the century for those interested in a vegetarian lifestyle. Chicago supposedly numbered 1000 followers of the Raw Foodists in the early 1900's. Our nut butters fit in well with these diets. More to come. |
